Our Approach
I believe that the best photos of our clients are ones that are captured in the moment. I specialize in portraits and candid shots that are natural, simple, and focus on you. To take the best photos that tell your story, we typically shoot in locations where you feel the most comfortable, like a special location.
My sessions are low-stress and fun, with a mixture of in-the-moment shots and some lightly posed portraits.

What to Expect
What To Expect
Before the Session
Email Consultation
Sessions will begin with an email consultation to get to know one another. We encourage clients to use this time for questions and ideas. We will discuss any must have shots and anything that you would like to include in your session.
Scheduling
We always give recommendations for the best locations and times. However, working with your schedule is important to us, so we can plan around any nap times or activities. For newborn sessions, we always plan for some extra time to give the baby (and mom and dad) all the time they need. We also recommend coordinating a back-up day with your family and photographer in case of rain.
Clothing
We recommend coordinating, not matching. Incorporate colors and patterns that fit well together. Also, don’t be afraid of color! Choose a few neutral colors, and then add a few bright accents to your outfits. Accessories such as scarves, necklaces, and clothing layers are great. Be sure to stay away from big logos though!
During the Session
Taking the Pictures
On the day of our session, we will meet at the set time and location and start snapping away. Depending on the package that was chosen, shoot time varies. As we mentioned before, our style is very easygoing and we like to capture all the wonderful moments that make your family yours. Often people worry if kids start running around, or if things are not going according to plan — we always say embrace it! We always get the most wonderful photos when everyone least expects it.
Rescheduling
Since we do natural light photography only (and we live in Pittsburgh), we will be at the mercy of the weather. If the day turns out to be extremely hot or cold, or if it’s raining, it may be best to move our session indoors or find a time to re-shoot (however, even for indoor sessions, a bright day is necessary). We would recommend rescheduling than push everyone into an uncomfortable place or not capture the best images possible. We will be in contact the day of the session to discuss any weather changes.
After the Session
Timing
We usually need 1 to 3 weeks to go through all your images, select the best ones, and then do any retouching and post-production editing.
Retouching
We work hard to provide our clients with a fresh, clean edit for their pictures. Vibrant, Timeless. Classic. We individually retouch and hand edit every single image in your gallery. Your photos will be eye catching, beautiful, and still look like you. No overly retouched, fake looking photos here. You’ll get a clean, classic photo that you can cherish forever
Delivery
You will receive all of your photos digitally, through an online, password-protected gallery. You will be able to share the gallery with friends and family, order prints, and download your images.
